while there’s not a lot to say in regards to progress, this project has not died yet. for the most part, real life and demotivation have gotten in the way. just recently, we’ve started to get back to work on this. there are going to be a lot of changes, and possibly something worth posting very soon.

keep your eyes on this blog and the other site. the latter will be where we’re posting most of the updates.

yeah. i’ve been slacking. the main reason /now/ is due to lack of motivation due to jhack randomly breaking things. but i’m sure i can get that under control. hopefully, we should have a demo out this month. i just need to update the script, make sure the sprites have been imported properly, all that good stuff.

anyway, we’ve got a video uploaded to youtube that involves fighting glaceon and leafeon. there will be a couple more like that during the next week or two, assuming jhack behaves itself. you can view it on the videos page.

stay tuned.

Well, my main PC’s been up and running for a while. I just got around to importing sprites again a few days ago, and doing some work on the script. Most of Onett’s enemies have been replaced, Delibird’s been revamped, and Bidoof is now the proper palette. I am now working on what pretty much would be the script that runs the first chapter of ParaBound’s story. We have updated the screenshots section with … more screenshots.

I’ll update you more as I make progress.

holy crap, i haven’t updated this since september!

i’ll be honest with you, i’ve been slacking. now it’s biting me in the ass. and real life issues came up. this project pretty much went on a somewhat unannounced hiatus, and it still kind of is.

long story short: i had to move out of my apartment in sacramento. this involved dismantling things so i could ship them, and that included my main computer – which no longer has a case due to the fact i did not have a large enough box to ship it. the scripts and stuff? they’re on the hard drive of that computer. and i do not have enough money to buy a new case (and a power supply. i don’t want any of that no-name, not-enough-sata-connectors crap).

in the meantime, i will continue working on the script. by that, i mean start fresh. this time, i’ll store it on a network share, which, now that i think of it – why the hell am i not already storing my documents on a network share? it would make things much easier.

so…progress? yerix has most of the main character sprites done, as well as some of the enemy sprites. they just need to be imported into the game. and me? i need to work on the script.

now that sacanime is over, i’m going to get back to work on the script. first i’ll clean up the text files and stuff, and make things more organized. that way there, it will be easier for me to edit the text. we’re hoping to get a playable demo out, probably by the middle of this month. i don’t know yet, since i have other things to work on as well. i’ll keep you posted.

yes, i changed the theme again. this time, it should stick.

so, i have updated the blog’s theme and changed the header logo. i think it looks a bit better than what we had before.

as for the hack – more sprites have been finished, and imported into the game. i’ve also found out that with eb++’s window titling function, i can now add names to character dialogue. i might just stick with main characters and whatnot – since there are like, a lot of NPC’s – but, i may name a few of them when i edit their text.

progress on this hack is going quite smoothly. i’ve got plenty of time on my hands to write scripts and such, considering the fact i’m unemployed. of course, input is always welcome on what the characters would say – this includes all the random NPCs encountered throughout the game. i’m still working on the mother, who will be a bitter old hag who verbally (and physically) abuses nessa. i’ve installed the eb++ patch, so i have plenty more flags to fuck around with, and more options for things to do.

graphically? we’ve got the sprites for the chosen four done. we’ve also got bidoof and the delibird family done. (all thanks to yerix). i will provide screenshots of each pretty soon. speaking of screenshots, i’ve added a section to the site for…well, screenshots. there’s only two up now, but more will come later.

I’ve decided to open the site for ParaBound. What is ParaBound? It is an EarthBound hack me and Yerix are working on. We’re changing a lot of things in the game, though the general story flow remains the same. Basically, it’s a parallel of EB’s story with a different premise: Yerix goes insane, and Kitsune Paradise (KP) gets FUBAR’d. It is up to Nessa and Co. to travel the land of the Internet to purify him, and save KP before it’s too late.

Stay tuned for more updates to this site – including screenshots and character information.
